T-N editorial: DOT communication needs work

N.C. Department of Transportation officials had plenty of opportunities to inform the public they had scaled back a project on N.C. 191, eliminating extended turn lanes at two schools. They didn’t, and it will stoke suspicions among residents who oppose plans to widen the highway. . . Opponents of the widening argue that four lanes are not needed. They also said extending the turn lanes would have helped reduce congestion around the schools. We’ll never know if they were right on the second point. . .” Continue reading

  1. Another case of government agencies withholding unfavorable facts or lying to the taxpayers and standing by those lies even after the truth has been exposed. It’s the ultimate bullying tactic and despite all the emotional rhetoric it can’t be defended against.
