T-N editorial: New designs can ease traffic

Hendersonville City Council is looking for ways to improve traffic flow without building new roads. It’s a smart idea.

Council approved a list of six recommended road improvement projects around town. The goal is to create a loop using existing roads that can serve as a bypass now that the proposed Balfour Parkway is dead. . .

Modest improvements, taken together, can make a difference for folks trying to get around Hendersonville. For instance, better signage can help to direct out-of-town traffic to routes (such as Signal Hill) that residents already use to bypass congested areas. There are undoubtedly other spots where small changes could help. . .
