Council decision on potential road projects

At today’s monthly council meeting, the Flat Rock village council decided that they would not support promoting either of the two potential road projects in the village at this time. This means that W. Blue Ridge Road and Erkwood Drive likely will not make the final list of seven potential road projects (out of 24) at the August 21 Henderson County Transportation Advisory Committee meeting. That final list will be presented to the French Broad River MPO for inclusion on their list for NCDOT.

Inclusion on this list does not mean that all or even any of the seven projects in Henderson County will be approved or funded, but it does mean that any selected projects will begin the process of evaluation as to whether or not they should be approved.

Update: The village council consensus seemed to be that other road projects in the county are more immediately needed, especially since the City of Hendersonville has already announced the roads they are recommending that NCDOT work on.

  1. Small step! Good! This road situation is going to spread like a virus unless the public takes action.
