T-N letter to the editor: Elect grown-ups

From today’s Times-News letters to the editor:

Elect grown-ups

Owning road frontage on Little River Road has made the possibility of adding 10-foot-wide asphalt cycle paths wholly unacceptable. These plans are clearly seen on page 16 of the Village of Flat Rock Comprehensive Land Use Plan.

Add to that the current council’s lawyerly denials that such a plan even exists. “It is not on the table … at this time” causes me to question everything they say and everything they do.

This includes needing their recent 18% tax increase, their claim to be at the mercy of the county, and bowing down to the NCDOT and outside special interests.

Also, promises made and then broken to Pinecrest Presbyterian Church and the unwillingness to weigh in on issues of great consequence to Flat Rick citizens because the projects were “over the village line” or were controversial.

I will vote for Tom Carpenter, Anne Coletta and David Dethero because I think it is time to bring in the grown-ups.

Victor Behoriam, Flat Rock
