Hendersonville Lightning: Business owner pledges matching donation to fight asphalt plant

From the Hendersonville Lightning:

“Businesses near the site of a proposed asphalt plant in East Flat Rock are banding together to raise legal and advertising funds.

Rick Baldaramos, new owner of Lakemont Cottages, announced Tuesday that he will match dollar for dollar the first $12,000 in Friends of East Flat Rock donations received through April 15. A minimum of $7,000 needs to be raised for the neighbors to receive Baldaramos’ donation, with a hope that $25,000 will be raised in total to fight an asphalt plant trying to rezone East Flat Rock.

In less than 24 hours, neighboring business owners Nancy Wilson of Camp Wayfayer  and Michelle Tennant of Wasabi Publicity rose to the challenge, with each making a $1,000 donation.

Other local businesses can participate in Lakemont Cottages’ challenge and receive additional publicity to Friends of East Flat Rock growing 12,215 members. All donations are tax-deductible thanks to local nonprofit, Mountaintrue. Mountaintrue was accepting donations at: 121 Third Avenue West, Suite #1, Hendersonville, NC 28792 (write “Friends Of East Flat Rock” in the memo line of donation) or donate online https://friendsofeastflatrock.org/donate/
