Flat Rock, North Carolina, August 3, 2021—The Flat Rock Village Council will hold a town hall meeting for the village community on Thursday, August 12. This will be the second town hall meeting of the Council and is a way to help village residents become more involved with their local government and talk with their elected leaders.
“It’s important that council members hear citizens’ priorities and concerns,” said Mayor Nick Weedman. “Our first town hall was well attended, and we had an opportunity for real discussion on issues with those there. Having these town halls in the evening lets us have conversations in a more informal setting and at a time that allows those unable to come to day-time council meetings to attend.”
Each meeting follows a format of brief introductions by village officials and then an extended time for attendees to provide input and ask questions on topics that are important to them. This town hall event will be held Thursday, August 12, from 6:30 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. at Pinecrest Presbyterian Church (1790 Greenville Highway, on the corner of Greenville Highway and N. Highland Lake Road). Subsequent town halls will meet on September 9, October 14, and November 12, with locations to be announced on the village website (villageofflatrock.org) and Facebook page.
