So disappointing that a historic preservation easement is apparently ineffective in preserving historic property. From the Hendersonville Lightning: "The state Historic Preservation Office has ruled that an NCDOT project can encroach on the corner of Greenville Highway and North Highland Lake Road, removing one of the last hurdles before the work can start."

During a special-called meeting Wednesday afternoon, the council backed a single-lane roundabout at Hebron Road, White Street and Kanuga Road; a double-lane roundabout where Church, Main and King streets converge south of downtown; and a mini-roundabout for Willow Road at White Street.
